Shots Fired at Convenience Store

POLICE INVESTIGATE ARGUMENT IN PARKING LOT OF STORE WHERE SHOTS WERE FIRED

On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at about 8:20 PM investigators with the multi-agency Street Crimes Unit pulled into the parking lot of Parker’s convenience store located at 4412 New Jesup Hwy. The investigators were in an unmarked vehicle. They noticed some type of verbal argument in the parking lot between a male and the occupants of a vehicle. The investigators heard gunshots, and the lone male fled the scene. At this time, investigators with the Street Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigations Division are interviewing people involved, as well as witnesses. They are still trying to piece together what transpired. As of now, there are no known injuries as a result of this incident. Investigators would like to identify the male who fled the scene, who may be a victim. He is described as a black male, having braids or twists in his hair, and was wearing a white t-shirt and dark shorts. The male was driving a white four door passenger car, possibly a Buick. If you know the identity of the male who fled the scene or witnessed the incident, please contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 912-554-7802 or the Silent Witness line at 912-264-1333
