Glynn Proposes Tax Increase

After several years of living out of their reserve fund, the Glynn County finance team is proposing a 2 mil increase in the general fund millage rate for the upcoming fiscal year. In 1995 Glynn’s millage rate was 7.52. It dropped in 1997, 2002 and 2007 to its current 5.67 mils. The proposed increase, if approved, would take it back to 7.67 mils. The commission will discuss the budget and millage increase in two work sessions, and then hold at least two public hearings before a decision is made on a millage increase.
