Goodyear Elementary was put on lockdown today after an SRO heard gunshots nearby. A man was spotted firing the weapon in a nearby park off Highway 17. The man left when he spotted the SRO on her way to investigate. She gave his description out over the radio, and he was apprehended near the college shortly thereafter. The man was reportedly very intoxicated.
There was no threat on school property.
