County Agrees to Move Road

Yesterday the Glynn County Commission agreed to apply for the Federal Lands Access Program grant as requested by Christ Church, Frederica, and to invest $50,000 in the project which would  realign Frederica Road from the Stevens Road intersection to Ft. Frederica. It was estimated that $25,000 to $30,000 in Glynn County staff time already has been spent on the project. The project is estimated to cost $1.3 million. The federal grant would cover 59% with Christ Church covering the 41% balance less the county’s $50,000 and Ft. Frederica’s $37,500. The Stevens Rd. intersection, also included in the project, will be changed to a T-intersection.
