Rick Evans, a Glynn County Police veteran and the first Black person to serve as GCPD chief, has announced that he has accepted the job of chief of the Kingsland Police Department. Evans, who was an applicant for the Glynn position last year while serving as interim chief, stated that he accepted the position this morning. Evans enjoyed strong community support for the full-time position in Glynn and remained Assistant Chief under Jacques Battiste.
It is unknown when he will start, but his final day with the county police will be June 28th.
