TripAdvisor has released their listing of the 25 best beaches in the United States, and the Golden Isles area has made the list!
Jekyll's Driftwood Beach finished sixth overall in the annual survey by the travel review website. Along with Siesta Beach in Siesta Key, FL--ranked second--Driftwood has the distinction of being one of only two east coast beaches in the top ten. The state of Florida did quite well outside the top ten, but Driftwood was the only spot on the Georgia coast to make the list.
Users of the site described Driftwood Beach as being "like a sculpture garden," "like something you would see in a movie," and "a spectacular show by mother nature."
Driftwood Beach moved up to six from eleven last year, coinciding with Jekyll's continuing rise as a major vacation destination.
