During Thursday’s Glynn County Board of Education work session Superintendent Scott Spence told the Board that Glynn County schools would reopen Monday with masks required. Spence said he would address the mask issue at the end of next week based on the Covid numbers. Spence said he was comfortable that the staff Covid numbers were correct but he was concerned about the student numbers being low since the Department of Public Health numbers are higher. The system relied on parents to report positive Covid tests for students during the past two weeks of distance learning. Spence said he was not sure all the positive student Covid tests had been reported because of the difference in the system’s calculations and the Department of Public Health calculations.
