Glynn County Commissioners ban alcohol ahead of Frat Beach

Thursday night Glynn County Commissioners unanimously voted and approved the ban of alcohol from the popular Frat Beach gathering.

The ban is exclusive to East Beach and goes into effect on November 6 through November 7.

The ban comes ahead of the annual football game on November 7 with the Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators. The event typically draws crowds of college students on St. Simon's Island.

The ban details it's intent to prevent, "incidents of intoxicated behavior on the beaches and adjacent parks, incidents of excessive trash and litter on the beaches and adjacent parks, disturbance of the peace and tranquility of the beaches and adjacent neighborhoods, incidents of lewd behavior."
