Yesterday Brunswick City Police Investigators arrested 23 year old Christopher Grimes and 21 year old Zachary Brown, Jr., both of Miami, Florida, in connection with the armed robbery of the Friendly Express convenience store at 2401 Gloucester Street. The robbery occurred about 2:30 Monday morning. The clerk told the police that two masked men, one carrying with a firearm, entered the store and demanded money. The reportedly stole $200 in cash and a $600 box of cigars before fleeing the scene. Police were able to identify the men from store surveillance footage and served a warrant yesterday on a local residence where Grimes and Brown were staying. During the search investigators recovered a Highpoint .45 caliber firearm and $10 of the stolen money. Grimes has been charged with Armed Robbery, Pointing a gun at another, and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Brown is charged with being a party to the crime of armed robbery.
