Bill to Force County Police Vote Unconstitutional; Won’t Be On Ballot

Two bills, SB 38 and SB509, placing a binding referendum on the November ballot to determine the fate of the Glynn County Police Department were ruled unconstitutional today by Judge Charles Rose, Jr. of the Atlantic Judicial Circuit. The decision was handed down in less than two hours. At this point, the referendum will not appear on the November ballot. An appeal would have to be filed today if it were going to happen.
