Glynn Schools to Go Online Learning Wednesday

E-Learning

In anticipation of coming announcements from the state and perhaps the governor, the Glynn County Board of Education will put into effect its online learning plan conceived in the past week. An announcement is coming from the school system this evening.

Per a conversation with a Glynn County School System administrator, on Monday school will be held as usual. Tuesday will be a teacher workday to ensure everyone is properly prepared for the switch. Wednesday, the students will begin online learning.

Staff will all be paid during the time of the school closings.

For students on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program and in need of meals, three schools will be open to provide food. Those locations weren't finalized at the time of the conversation but will be named in this evening's release. The names mentioned during teh conversation were Brunswick High and Sterling Elementary.

The anticipation is that the school closing will continue up till spring break, and students may be able to return after that. However, nothing has been decided at present.

An official release is coming shortly. We will publish it in its entirety.
