Glynn Man Fatally Shot in Hunting Accident

From Glynn County Police:

On September 28, 2019, Glynn County Police were dispatched to a shooting in the wooded area of 578 Myers Hill Road. They met with all parties at the Friendly Express on Highway 82 and 303. The victim, Bobby Lane, was transported to this location in order to be quickly transferred to an ambulance and taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injury.

Upon initial interviews, it was discovered that the parties involved knew each other, and came to the Myers Hill area to go hunting. During their hunt, Bobby Lane was in an area of heavy foliage, and was allegedly mistaken for a deer. He was shot by Hector Romero, who helped transport Bobby Lane to the Friendly Express.

The scene is currently secure, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has been called in to conduct an investigation of the incident, along with Glynn County Investigators. This investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released when it has concluded.
