More Info on Crash From St.Simons

At a press conference this afternoon, Glynn County Police Chief of Staff Brian Scott confirmed the crash of a Cessna 182 in Sinclair Point off Lawrence Road on St Simons this morning. No harm was done to area property or people, but the sole occupant of the plane died in the crash. The plane was en route to St Simons from Savannah.

The police strenuously countered rumors that there were four people in board the plane. Despite the fact that the plane was a four-seater, there was only one occupant on the plane.

Independent research confirms a plane filed to travel from Savannah to St Simons this morning that did not make it to the airport. An ownership check of that vehicle show it to be owned by and investment firm in Bluffton, SC.

More on the story as it develops.
