Judge Atwood Resigns, Will Join Kemp Administration

Chief Magistrate Judge Alex Atwood has resigned from his position, he announced today, in order to join the Brian Kemp administration in a senior executive level position.

Atwood will join the administration as the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Administrative Services.

The Atwoods will continue to maintain a residence in the Golden Isles. Commissioner Atwood plans to keep an apartment in Atlanta and commute.

A replacement will be chosen to fill the remainder of Atwood's unexpired term.
