Brunswick Man Attacked, in Critical Condition

From the Brunswick Police Department:

On September 27, 2018 at approximately 0610 hours, officers responded to a residence on the 1200 block of H Street. This was in reference to a call of a man on the floor bleeding from the head. When officers arrived they noticed 61 year old black male, Jerry Casborn, on the floor of his residence. He was barely breathing and bleeding profusely from the head. EMS arrived on the scene and administered medical services to Jerry Casborn. It was determined that he was struck with some type of blunt object. Mr. Jerry Casborn was transported to Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick and then he was flown to UF Health Jacksonville. At this time condition of Mr. Jerry Casborn is critical.

During the course of the investigation a suspect was developed. A 28 year old white male, Jamie Kenneth Hutcheson was taken into custody by the Brunswick Police Investigation Division. Jamie Kenneth Hutcheson was charged with aggravated battery and attempt to commit murder, both felony charges. He has since been transported and turned over to the Glynn County Detention Center. Evidence from the crime scene has been recovered.This investigation is ongoing.
