The Glynn County Coroner appeared on the scene of the incident involving former Glynn County Police Officer Corey Sasser early Friday morning. Sasser was pronounced dead at 4:57am. He suffered s single gunshot wound to the chest that appears to be self-inflicted. There was no evidence that he suffered an injury in McIntosh County during his altercation with an as-yet officially-unidentified male. THe body will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Savannah on Monday, where an autopsy will be performed, at which time the official cause and manner of death will be determined.
