Police Offer Clarification on Missing Juveniles

CLARIFICATION ON SOCIAL MEDIA RUMORS REGARDING MISSING JUVENILES

It has come to the attention of the Glynn County Police Department that rumors are circulating on social media regarding abductions or attempted abductions of female juveniles in Glynn County. The purpose of this release is to clarify the circumstances surrounding this issue, and hopefully ease the concerns of the community.

There are four juveniles who have been reported missing recently, and at this time, there is no information to support that any of the missing juveniles have been abducted.

On June 19, 2018 12-year-old Alison Lambert was reported as missing from the Jessica Lane area of Glynn County. Initial investigation suggested Alison may have run away from home. The Glynn County Police Department is still investigating this case, and are attempting to verify Alison’s whereabouts.

On June 25, 2018 15-year-old Samantha Marsh was reported missing from the Touchstone subdivision. Samantha was located today and is no longer missing. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance is currently being investigated.

On June 25, 2018 12-year-old Cynamin Moss was reported missing from the Sandalwood subdivision. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance indicate that she may have run away from home.

On June 26, 2018 14-year-old Destiny Villa was reported missing from Saltwater Lane. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance indicate that she may have run away from home.

None of these incidents appear to be connected, and there is no indication at this point that foul play is involved in any of these missing juveniles. It is important to know that not all reports of missing juveniles are indicative of foul play and/or an abduction. Many times, children are found to have run away from home due to behavioral issues, discipline administered by a guardian, etc. In any incident of a missing child, in which there is reasonable belief that an abduction has occurred, or belief that the child is in imminent danger, there will be a thorough investigation. If certain criteria is met, an Amber Alert will also be issued.
