Police Seek Two in Wednesday Shooting

POLICE SEEK TWO IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT SHOOTING

On Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at about 10:45 PM a Brunswick Police Officer was on patrol near the city/county line in the Arco community when he heard the sound of gunshots nearby. The Brunswick Police Officer encountered and stopped a vehicle fleeing the area, which was occupied by five individuals. Three of the occupants fled on foot, and the remaining two occupants were detained.

 Around the same time, the Glynn Brunswick E911 Center began receiving reports of a person shot in the area of Seventh Street and Emanuel Avenue. Officers with the Glynn County and Brunswick Police Departments responded jointly.Officers located 43-year-old Glynn County resident John Johnson laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. 

Mr. Johnston was transported to the Southeast Georgia Health System – Brunswick Campus in stable condition, and later transferred via helicopter to UF Health Jacksonville.Investigators worked throughout the night and today investigating this shooting. The two males originally detained were released from police custody. As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained on Kevin Pinkney Jr., 18-years-old and old Jacques Spaulding, 19-years-old, charging both with Aggravated Assault. 

At approximately 3:30 PM this date, Pinkney was arrested without incident. Spaulding is still at-large.
