The Brunswick-Glynn Joint Water and Sewer Commission is planning to hold town hall meetings Tuesday and Thursday to talk with the public about a proposed restructuring of the utility’s water and sewer rates. The JWSC approved the new rate structure last month, which will include 1,000 gallons of water usage in the base utility fee. Customers who use more than 1,000 gallons of water a month will see little change in their monthly bills. Both the Brunswick City and Glynn County commissions approved an amendment to the utility’s operating agreement last week, clearing the way for the new structure. The first town hall is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday in room 108 of the St. Simons Island Casino, on Beachview Drive on St. Simons Island. Wednesday’s meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Howard Coffin Park rec center, on Sonny Miller Way in Brunswick.
