The Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce and Development Authority honored local manufacturers Friday at the chamber’s quarterly membership luncheon. The chamber dedicated the luncheon to the county’s manufacturers, including Pinova, the Port of Brunswick, Georgia Pacific, Precision Metals, Rich Products, LobePro, SymRise and PaR Marine. Honored for its 80 years of operations, College of Coastal Georgia School of Business Dean Skip Mounts said the impact of Georgia Pacific’s pulp mill on jobs in this area is significant. A study done by the College in 2016 found Georiga Pacific employs, either directly or indirectly, 2,069 people.
