The Mainland Planning Commission meets tonight a 6:00 in the Historic Courthouse in downtown. On the agenda is a rezoning for a 233 acre tract of land north of Hwy. 99 off Spur 25 in the Gateway tract. It is currently zoned Planned development and the request is to rezone it to Forest Agriculture. The owner wants the rezoning to allow agricultural and mining uses on the property, although there already is a surface mine is in operation on the site. The planning commission will hear two other rezoning applications and five site plans, one of which is for a new Ace Hardware store on Perry Lane Rd.
