Rep Jeff Jones has five legislative days left to get his coal ash bill to the Senate floor for a vote. If passed, HB879 would require coal ash dewatering notice to local officials. The bill, authored by Jones, has taken two years to negotiate and Jones said he believes it stands a good chance of passage by the Senate.
