The Glynn County Commission voted 6 - 1 last night to have County Manger Alan Ours meet with the SPLOST 2016 citizens Oversight Committee to reiterate that their job is to oversee the county’s progress on the SPLOST projects and report to the public what is being done. The committee issued a resolution recommending the county perform a comprehensive traffic study on St. Simons Island before moving ahead with any SPLOST road projects. Commissioner Mark Stambaugh voiced the consensus saying after the 2015 traffic study, a second study was not needed. Commissioner Bob Coleman, who supported a second traffic study, was the dissenting vote.
