The Joint Water and Sewer Commission will close the 600 block of Demere Way on St. Simons Island today to replace a damaged sewer pipe. Utility employees will be working on the pipe from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., requiring Demere Way between Oak Street and Demere Road to be closed to through traffic. Homeowner access will be maintained, but all other traffic should be prepared to take another route.
