Thanks to additional staffing approved by Glynn County in this year’s budget the St. Simons Island Library will be increasing their daily hours beginning in January once a new employee is on board. The library will open at 9:30each day, instead of 10:00, except Wednesday when it will open at 9:30 instead of 12 noon. In addition the Marshes of Glynn Libraries board of trustees learned yesterday that the Georgia Public Library System is going to reimburse the county 90% of the $58,000 cost to clean up the mold that occurred in the St. Simons library after Hurricane Irma. The county expects to get about $52,000 back from the state.
