New Live Oaks Coming to Isles

52 live oak trees have arrived at Glynn County Public Works in Brunswick and on St. Simons to replace trees lost during Hurricane Irma. A Keep America Beautiful / Anheuser-Busch Community Restoration Grant for $10,000 provided funding for the trees. Keep Golden Isles Beautiful was one of four national grant recipients. The county will begin planting today along Frederica Rd. on St. Simons Island. KGIB is looking for “Tree Buddy” volunteers to water the trees three times a week for one year. A grant for watering supplies has been applied for.
