Last Thursday night the Glynn County Commission approved a Special Use Permit for the Glynn Haven Baptist church paving the way for the church to build a new sanctuary on Palmetto St. on St. Simons a block or so away from their former home. The minister sold the former church property to a developer which resulted in some controversy in the neighborhood. In addition, the Commissioners voted to approve two rezonings for Sea Island Acquisitions allowing the resort company to add 14 hotel rooms to the Lodge at the Sea Island Golf Course along with a new golf performance center and swimming pool. The company plans to have the expansion ready for next year’s RSM Classic.
