The Glynn County Commission honored the entire County SWAT team during their last night with Medals of Valor. The recognition was awarded for actions the team took on February 27 when they were executing an arrest warrant at a house on Blythe Island. The suspect was armed with on automatic weapon and began firing at the officers as they entered the carport. Other officers entered the house from another direction and shot the suspect before any officers were injured. Lifesaving first aid was provided by the officers and the suspect was taken into custody.
