Traffic backed up along Demere Road on St. Simons yesterday afternoon after a Ceres truck, that was picking up storm debris, struck a tree on Demere Road near the intersection of Old Demere Rd. just north of the East Beach Causeway The tree fell, blocking the road and took out a secondary power line cutting off power to one home. Demere Rd. from the East Beach Causeway to Yucca Lane was closed while the tree was removed and power line repaired.
