JIA Seeking Funding for Revetment Repair

The Jekyll Island Authority is enlisting congressional help hoping to get federal assistance with repair to the Island’s north end revetment. The JIA has $4 million in state monies but believes the fix to the revetment, put on Jekyll’s north end in 1964 after Hurricane Dora, goes beyond $4 million can do. JIA Executive Director Jones Hooks said he is trying to get the Corps of Engineers to visit Jekyll to look at the situation either this week or next.
