At their regular meeting tomorrow night the City Commission will consider renaming N St. to Bishop Harry Brown Drive. The applicants, James Brooks and Zack Lyde, have submitted a petition with 24 applicable signatures. City policy requires signatures from 50 percent of property owners / residents involved in the change. Based on the GIS there are 40 separate addresses on N St.
The City will also consider a $95,000 contract with EMC Engineering for survey and engineering work on storm drainage improvements on L St. between MLK and Stacy St. The existing storm drainage system is insufficient to handle storm water runoff and significant flooding is caused during rain events. Funding will come from SPLOST 6.
