The St. Simons Island branch library is closed until Wednesday as workers clean up non-toxic mold found inside the facility. The library was closed last Wednesday after the mold was discovered. Library officials believe the mold became active while the power and air conditioning were out due to Hurricane Irma. Experts have confirmed the mold is not toxic, but it could affect some who are sensitive to mold. Remediation efforts are underway, and the cleaning project should be complete by Tuesday.
