Brunswick Wins Rain-Shortened Tilt with Cook 53-7

The game was moved up to Thursday to avoid rain and lightning delays, yet the delays happened anyway as the Brunswick High Pirates played their first home game under coach Sean Pender last night. The first quarter alone took over an hour and forty five minutes to complete, but what a first quarter it was. The Pirates scored on three of their first five plays and took a 26-0 lead into the second quarter, which differed little from the first. By halftime it was 47-7 and BHS quarterback Jamarious Stevens had thrown 6 touchdowns and run another, piling up 305 passing. The Pirates scored again to take a 53-7 lead in the third with a running clock before the game was halted for good with yet another delay.
