Drug and Weapons Charges Heard

28 year Robert Christopher Copeland appeared before U.S. Magistrate R. Stan Baker on Wednesday for a bond hearing on a federal indictment returned in June charging him with multiple drug crimes including possession of firearms during a drug trafficking crime. Copeland has also been charged by the state for brandishing a weapon at Burroughs Molette Elementary School in February of last year and was out on $50,000 bond. Copeland is back in jail and will remain there while state and federal prosecutors decide who will try him.
