Morris Communications Co. has sold the assets of Morris Publishing Group, including The Florida Times-Union, to GateHouse Media. The $120 million sale included three Georgia newspapers, The Augusta Chronicle, the Savannah Morning News, and the Athens Banner-Herald. GateHouse Media is one of the largest newspaper companies in the country, owning more than 130 daily newspapers and more than 500 non-daily publications across the United States.
