About 12:15 yesterday Vector Space Systems launched the first suborbital test vehicle from the proposed Spaceport Camden at the end of Harrietts Bluff Road. The rocket was a full scale prototype of the company’s Vector-R launch vehicle. The flight test is significant for Vector because the company is manifesting customer-sponsored experiments and payloads. Camden County is working on licensing its spaceport with the FAA and hopes to have an environmental impact statement drafted by the end of this year.
