Youth Fundraising Bike Ride Coming Through Isles

Five young men from the Paul Anderson Youth Home in Vidalia will be on St. Simons Island tomorrow as part of a 500 mile fund raising bike ride through Georgia and north Florida. The purpose of the ride is to honor the home’s founder, Olympic gold medal weight lifter Paul Anderson and to raise $200,000 for the home. So far they have raised $132,000 since the ride began on Monday. The group will bike through Vidalia, St. Simons, and Thomasville, along with Ponte Vedra Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Interlachen and Mayo, Florida. The group will spend the night at Epworth by the Sea Methodist Center on St. Simons and be fed by Chik-fil-a, one of the event sponsors.
