Construction on Jekyll Island’s new, updated museum, MOSAiC, is expected to begin this winter with an anticipated opening date in early 2019. MOSAiC will be located in the old stables building in the island’s historic district where the island’s museum is currently housed. The museum’s temporary home during construction will be in the Furness Cottage on Old Plantation Rd. This building, which was once an infirmary, is currently being upgraded.
