28 year old William Carlton Lewis and 37 year old Josie Ashlia Taylor pled guilty to child molestation charges in Glynn County Superior Court last week. Lewis, a former Altama Elementary school teacher, pled to two counts of sexual battery against a child under 16, but under the first-offender statute, received two concurrent five-year probation sentences and a $1,500 fine. Taylor, a former day care center operator, pled to failure to report suspected child abuse and received two consecutive one-year probation sentences and fines totaling $1,500.
