67 year old Ray Starling, a deputy for the Glynn County Sheriff’s Dept. and a former Glynn County Police Captain, was found dead early Saturday morning in the water off Homer Wilson Way in Brunswick. Starling was reported missing Friday night when he did not return from fishing. Participating in the search were the Brunswick police and fire departments, the Sheriff’s Office, the County Emergency Management Search and Recovery volunteers, County fire department, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office dive team, the Department of Natural Resources, and the Georgia State Patrol. After searching the water all night they found Starling’s body Saturday morning.
