34 year old Laura Hilton was arrested by county police on Friday and charged with 13 counts of cruelty to animals. Hilton was allegedly keeping three dogs, nine rabbits and at least one cat, in cruel and unsanitary conditions in her mobile home at Southern Pines Mobile Home Park. Hilton was released from county jail the same day after posting $681 bond for each of the 13 charges. Glynn County Animal Services Officer Barakah Smith discovered the situation last month while following up on a concerned citizen’s report of animal cruelty.
