Brunswick Police Officer Aldrid Spalding fatally shot David Leon Bell Monday night while Bell was allegedly stabbing Erica Williams. Spalding was off duty when he heard the dispute and responded to the incident in the 2100 block of N Street. Bell died at Southeast Georgia Health system. Williams remains in the hospital in stable condition. Spalding has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
