The Athens-based alternative country / southern rock band Drive By Truckers will be the featured band at the Sea Island company’s Southern Grown event this year. After being held in June the last two years Southern Grown is being moved to Labor Day weekend -Sept. 1 - 3 - because according to event officials theres is currently no major local Labor Day weekend event. The concert location will also change from The Lodge at the Sea Island Golf course to the much smaller Rainbow Island venue. The Truckers will play at 7:00 Saturday night, with the Grammy winning Steep Canyon Rangers playing Fridaynight.
