According to Susan Heisey, Supervisory Ranger of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, June 10 was the last time smoke was seen on the West Mims Fire. The team managing the incident now is repairing roads and fire brakes. Most canoe trails are open and, due to recent rains, the Swamp’s water is almost back to its normal summer level.
