JWSC v School Board Could Affect Your Water Bill

If the Joint Water and Sewer Commission loses their lawsuit against the board of education, it will cost rate payers a one-time payment of $2.80 to make up the approximately $250,000 the JWSC claims the school board owes for back payments. In addition, .28¢ per month for the next 28 years will be added to water bills to cover the school system’s debt service. These figures are subject to change based on when Superior Court judge rules. Some of the JWSC members are concerned whether the school board will have the funds available if the Judge rules against the school system.
