County Passes Substantial Budget Increase

After a lengthy discussion last night, that became a briefly confrontational, the Glynn County Commission approved the 2018 fiscal year budget on a 4-3 vote. The budget calls for a proposed millage increase of 2 mils in the general fund and a half a mil in the fire fund. However the millage rate won’t be voted on until sometime in July, after the tax digest has been taken to Atlanta and approved by the state Revenue Department. Commissioners Brunson, Booker, Murphy and Strickland voted in favor of the budget.
