Charles Davis the Dean of the Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia was a featured speaker during the Georgia Press Association’s annual meeting at the Jekyll Island Club hotel last weekend. Davis addressed the current fake news phenomenon, which was reportedly the hot topic of the convention. The event culminated with the Better Newspaper Contest awards dinner Saturday night during which local iheart radio news partner The Islander Newspaper won 2nd place for their division in the Investigative Reporting category for their St. Simons Island incorporation articles.
