Two Plead Guilty in Homicide

Two of the four men accused of the October 2014 homicide shooting of 24 year old Savannah resident Nicholas James King at an Albany St. residence in Brunswick pled guilty yesterday two weeks before their scheduled trial date. 27 year old Christopher Dashaun Young was sentenced to 20 years in state prison for voluntary manslaughter and violation of the state Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. He is also currently serving part of a 29-year federal prison sentence after pleading to a number of other crimes. 24 year old Willie James Ford was sentenced to seven years in state prison and 23 years probation for conspiracy to commit murder and violation of the gang act. The homicide was reportedly in retaliation for a drive-by shooting in an ongoing street war between local sets of the Gangster Disciples and the Bloods.
