City Cleanup Nets Tons

A city-wide clean up in Brunswick last month netted a total of 2.7 tons of litter being picked up including 30 tires, 720 pounds of recycling and 2,265 cigarettes butts. During a two-hour time frame litter was collected by groups of volunteers and city officials in various parts of the city including Bay Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Albany Street and Lanier Boulevard. The city partnered with Keep Golden Isles Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful for the cleanup initiative.
