St. Marys Residents Oppose Cumberland Construction

Tom Canning of St. Mary’s is one of several people currently circulating petitions to oppose the development of 10 homesites on an 88-acre tract on the Cumberland Island National Seashore. Organizers started circulating the petitions Friday at the Woodbine Crawfish Festival. So far more than 1,400 people have signed 98 pages of petitions. The petitions will be submitted to the Camden County Commission who will decided whether to approve or reject the county planning commission’s decision to grant a hardship variance to island residents who want to develop the tract.
